Dylan Wilkerson checked the A♦8♥3♦ flop before Felipe Ramos moved his short stack into the middle. Dzmitry Urbanovich got out of the way and Wilkerson made the call.
Felipe Ramos: A♠K♦5♦4♠
Dylan Wilkerson: A♥5♠4♣3♥
Ramos was trailing Wilkerson's two pair, looking to complete a flush or a wheel while the two shared the same low. The Q♥ turn and 7♣ river changed nothing, leaving Ramos even shorter with just a quarter of the pot.
Three hands on three separate tables took place at the same time and two of them were of particular interest.
Taylor Wilson flat-called a min-raise to 20,000 by Long Tran while on the button and they checked the 8♣7♣2♦ flop. On the 5♣ turn, Tran checked and Wilson bet 20,000. The check-raise to 100,000 followed and Wilson sigh-folded with the words, "I know you are so full of shit right now," before asking how much it would cost him to see Tran's hand.
Tran shook his head and raked in the chips.
One table over, the betting action was already completed and a duo waited to proceed with their showdown. Igor Zektser had potted in the cutoff to 35,000 with 18,000 behind. Stephen Deutsch groaned but then opted to gamble with the words, "Ah fuck it," as Zektser called it off.
"It is not a great hand, I am sure you are winning,"Deutsch had told Zektser who replied "let's keep it that way" while they were waiting for the other tables to finish.
Igor Zektser: A♣5♣4♠3♦
Stephen Deutsch: A♥Q♥Q♠5♥
Deutsch was surprised to find himself ahead and Zektser ended up drawing dead on the K♦2♦2♥10♥ turn to make the 10♦ river a formality, bursting the bubble after some half an hour of hand-for-hand mode.
Three-way action on the 2♥7♠J♠ flop saw a flurry of action at the table.
Eoghan O'Dea bet 130,000, representing much of his remaining stack. Ryan Hoenig then moved all in covering both opponents, with George Wang deciding to get his stack into the middle. O'Dea called and the hands were turned up.
George Wang: A♥Q♥4♣3♣
Eoghan O'Dea: A♠Q♠6♥2♠
Ryan Hoenig: A♣J♣J♥7♦
Hoenig's set of jacks was in the lead, fading his opponents' flush and low draws on the 9♣ turn and Q♦ river to score the double elimination.
Phil Hellmuth had limped in and Anton Smirnov checked out of the big blind. On a flop of Q♠8♦4♦, Smirnov checked and Hellmuth bet 20,000. Smirnov check-raised the pot and Hellmuth shot out of his seat in disgust, then talked himself into a tight fold as he mentioned to have had aces without diamonds and a low draw.
"I am sure you are drawing dead," he even told Smirnov, who glanced at his cards and flashed the 4♣4♥ for a set.
Soon after on the same table, Ky Nguyen was all in blind with a severe short stack of just 12,000 and Vincas Tamasauskas also got his short but covering stack into the middle.
Ky Nguyen: A♦A♠J♣6♠
Vincas Tamasauskas: A♣6♦5♥4♥
The board ran out K♠10♣8♥J♥A♥ and Tamasauskas rivered a flush.
Vincas Tamasauskas raised the pot to 42,000 from under the gun and received three callers including Christopher Vitch and Phil Hellmuth out of the blinds.
Vitch checked the 10♠8♣8♦ flop and Hellmuth moved all-in for 81,000. That forced folds to Vitch, who gave it brief consideration and then called.
Phil Hellmuth: A♦8♥3♣2♠
Christopher Vitch: K♠Q♠Q♣10♥
The Q♥ turn improved Vitch to queens full of eights and the 7♣ river ended the run of Hellmuth, who chatted up a storm of swear words before heading to the rail.
Taylor Wilson raised the pot from early position and was called by Vincas Tamasauskas, who then announced that his final 5,000 chip was going in blind. Wilson obliged on the J♥7♦J♣ flop leaving Tamasauskas at risk.
Vincas Tamasauskas: Q♠8♥5♦4♣
Taylor Wilson: A♠4♠3♥2♣
The A♦ turn left Wilson in the lead, with the K♠ river completing the board as Tamasauskas hit the rail.
"I have two chances, one online and the other here that I am about to win," Paul Volpe mentioned in table chat while he was all-in for 67,000 post flop against Michael Banducci on a 9♠9♦3♣ flop. He was focused on the phone for the online bracelet event as he chatted away with Daniel Negreanu and Banducci then tank-called from one seat over.
Paul Volpe: A♠J♠J♦4♦
Michael Banducci: A♣K♥5♥3♦
The 5♦ turn and 7♥ river ensured the double-up for Volpe.
Dan Heimiller was not as fortunate and lost the remainder of his short stack one table over.
