Rosengarten ‘Among Sharks’ at His Table

Livello 13 : Limits 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Robert Rosengarten
Robert Rosengarten

Robert Rosengarten knows a thing or two about poker. He’s won $100,539 on the poker tour, according to Hendon Mob, so he has faced tough competition during his career.

Perhaps that’s why he stopped PokerNews during Level 13 to point out the stout competition he faced at Table 80.

“This is a shark pool,” Rosengarten said. “This is tough. I’m among sharks.”

He then proceeded to point out the players he was in the middle of, with Chicago’s Jason Gola and a player named Patrick, who didn’t provide his last name, to his immediate left, while Frank Leonald and Pete Riles were to his immediate right.

Rosengarten complimented all the players’ skill level at his table, but showed he could hold his own on a hand against Patrick, who raised under the gun. Rosengarten defended his big blind and the flop produced Q2A. Both players checked the flop as Rosengarten cautioned his opponent to not bet. The turn produced 9x and both players once again checked to the river, which brought A.

After the two players checked, Rosengarten made a playful, yet confident remark to his opponent.

“Two pair,” said Rosengarten, who tabled 72 to show two pair. “I can’t bet because he won’t tip me.”

His opponent mucked his hand, and Rosengarten’s play and banter brought chuckles and smiles from his tablemates.
