Chopping The Hard Way

Livello 18 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Joe McKeehen has back pedaled some since returning from dinner but that hasn't slowed him down in the action.

McKeehen raised in early position and was called by James Chen in the small blind, as well as Michael Kuo in the big blind. Three ways, they saw a flop of 566. Both blinds checked and McKeehen bet, getting called by both opponents.

The turn brought the J and both blinds checked to McKeehen, who wasted no time in firing another bet. This time Chen folded and only Kuo called.

The river was the 8 and both players checked. Kuo tabled A3 and McKeehen then turned over the A7 for the chop, as both players were playing the same ace high.

The action folded around to Hiroyuki Noda who raised it up in the small blind. David Bach reraised in the big blind and Noda called. The flop came 432 and Noda check-called a bet from Bach.

The turn was the 9 and Noda checked again. Bach counted out a bet and Noda check-raised which led to Bach just calling. The K landed on the river and Noda slid out a bet. Bach quickly called and Noda flashed his cards but quickly put them in the muck when Bach tabled JJ.

Noda Finds the Triple, Como Left Short

Livello 18 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Mavrick Yoo started off the action with a raise on the button, which was called by Robert Como in the small blind, as well as the short-stacked Hiroyuki Noda in the big blind.

All players checked on a flop of AJ2, bringing the 10 on the turn. This time Como took the initiative and bet, who was called for less by Noda, and for the full amount by Yoo.

The all saw the 4 on the river but only two had an option as Como fired again, this time garnering a fold from Yoo. Como turned over KJ for second pair but was only awarded a small side pot as Noda rolled over the J10 for turned two pair.

Noda had a noticeable breath of life as he scooped the pot and stacked his chips. Como, on the other hand, was left a bit deflated.
