Milgrom Takes it on the Turn

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Four players saw a flop of 1037. Terricita Milgrom, in the small blind, bet 1,300 and was called by the player sitting under the gun.

The turn fell the A. Milgrom threw out a roughly pot-sized bet of 5,000 and after a short think, her opponent folded.

Shortly afterwards, an announcement asking players to keep walkways clear of mobility scooters drew much laughter from around the room.

Eric Smidinger

Welcome to Day 1a of Event #48: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship. A longtime fixture on the WSOP calendar, the Seniors Championship has grown in popularity and prestige over the years, so a large and competitive field is expected, as the minimum age requirement is only 50.

Last time out it was Eric Smidinger who prevailed from a field of 7,188 entries to scoop first place, a WSOP gold bracelet, and the small matter of $694,909 in prize money.

Day 1a begins at 10 a.m. and players will start with 20,000 chips. Levels are 60 minutes in duration and there will be 20-minute breaks after every two levels, plus an extended dinner break of 75 minutes after Level 8 (approximately 7 p.m.). In total there will be 11 levels of play today.

Late registration and one optional re-entry per flight will be available until the end of the dinner break at about 8:15 p.m.

A second starting flight following the exact same schedule, Day 1b, will take place tomorrow, Thursday, June 22, at 10 a.m. and as always, the last starting flight will be the biggest, so plan ahead!

Stay tuned to PokerNews for full coverage of the Seniors and all other events at the 2023 World Series of Poker.
