Brito Bets Aido Off the Pot

A player in early position raised to 1,100 finding Sergio Aido in the cutoff who three-bet to 3,500. Both players in the blinds cold-called the three-bet, including Fernando Brito in the small blind. The original raiser also continued.

Four players saw a flop of Q♠2♣2♦. Checked to Aido, he continued for 3,000. Only Brito continued.

The A♣ turn checked through to the 7♠ on the river. Brito now led into to Aido for 3,000 promoting him to fold.

Alexandre Reard raised from early position to 1,200, the player to his immediate right called and Yasuhiro Waki in the cutoff raised to 4,800. Reard retaliated with a four-bet to 14,000 to which only Waki called.

The flop came K♣7♠4♣. Reard continued for 11,500 but Waki came over the top jamming for the remainder of his stack. Reard made a quick fold.

Dylan Linde raised from the hijack to 3,500, the player in the small blind called while the player in the big blind three-bet to 5,500. Linde called and the small blind folded.

Heads up to the flop as it came 8♠4♦10♥. The preflop aggressor continued for 3,500. Linde was undeterred.

The turn came the K♣ and again Linde was faced with another bet, this time for 8,000. In response, he raised to 21,000. After some time in the tank, Linde's opponent folded, conceding the pot.

Riess Bombs the River

There was a late position open to 1,000. WSOP Main Event Winner, Ryan Riess called next to act, Jake Daniels called on the button and the big blind defended. The players were off to a flop four ways.

The 2♠6♠8♦ flop hit the felt and action checked to Riess who put out a bet of 1,700. The big blind made the call and the preflop raiser made the call. The players were going to a turn three ways.

The 10♦ turn hit and the action checked to Riess again who continued for 2,600. With action back on the big blind, he thought for a moment before putting in the turn check-raise to 7,600. The preflop raiser got out of the way and Reiss went into the tank for a moment before making the call.

The river landed a J♦ and without thinking the big blind tossed out one 5,000 chip. Riess stayed composed but eventually ripped it in covering the big blinds stack. The big blind basically snap folded and Riess dragged a great pot early.

Action folded to David Stamm in middle position,who opened to 800. The player next to act in middle position put in the three bet to 2,400. Stamm only thought for a moment before making the call.

The 8♥3♠6♣ flop hit the felt and and Stamm started with a check. The middle position player thought for a moment before down betting to 1,600. Again, Stamm made the call.

The 10♣ hit the turn and when Stamm checked, his opponent only took a moment before putting out a bet of 6,300. Stamm sat in the tank for about a minute before springing the trap and announcing a check-raise to 20,000. His opponent looked frustrated but ultimately laid down his hand.

Stamm stands to be one of the early chip leaders in the event, but there is plenty of play left in day 1.
