The Most Interesting Table in the Field?

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Steve Moreschi reported to PokerNews that his table was the most interesting. "This guy [Josh Jones] has knocked two players out with aces, which is unheard of. Aces vs kings and he flops top set. Another hand he catches the case ace."

Replied Jones, "Can you make sure you get in there that he's bullying me?"

"Will You Show if I Fold?"

Livello 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On a rainbow, ace-high board, Robert Cote placed an all-in wager of 11,200 and Jordan Glazer could be heard saying, "Ugh, I always hero call and I'm always wrong."

Glazer went on to implore his opponent to show if he folded, which was responded to with a slow shake of the head.

Ultimately, Glazer got halfway out of his seat and made the call. Cote quickly tabled AA102 for top set and Glazer fulfilled his prophecy and tabled KQ48 for two pair.

All things considered, Glazer was rather good natured when he gave PokerNews his name. Time will tell if Glazer chooses to reenter.

Esther Taylor
Esther Taylor

Michael Dobbs got runner up in the $600 NLH/PLO mix in 2022 for $98,026 and despite being able to best that this year, he hopped straight into this with the hopes of making a run.

Esther Taylor already cashed the $600 and $1,000 PLO here in the 2023 series, but is looking for that deep run. She has had an illustrious career and I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of her this summer.

Maison Hinkle, better known as "Uncle Ron" is known for his quirky fashion sense and silly attitude. He has cashes dating back to 2016.

Giorgiy Skhuluhiya made waves on Twitter for having several winners photos released in the matter of the same month, always with the same stoic look. He won three tournaments in the matter of five days, hopping between the Venetian and the Wynn.

Tomes Scores a Level 1 Knockout

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

After several reraises Geoffrey Tomes and Xiaohui Yu got it all in preflop.

Tomes: AAK10
Yu: AQKJ

The 3A10 flop made a pair for Yu and a wrap, but gave Tomes two pair and a flush draw, which came in on a Q turn. Yu couldn't catch an ace or queen on the river for a full house, and Tomes had one of the first knockouts of the day.

"Now you can go back to bed!" said one Yu's tablemates.

"No," replied Yu. "I'm going to rebuy!"

Kim Takes an Early Pot

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

David Kim and Bence Szurkos locked up in one of the first hands of the day. Kim bet 1,000 on a flop of K88, and Szurkos called.

Both checked the A turn, and Kim bet 3,000 on a Q river. Szurkos considered the straight and flush draws that had come in, along with the full house possibilities, and folded. Kim took down one of the first pots of the day.

At almost the same time a cry was heard from across the room, "We have a new chip leader!" Surely much more excitement to come as the field begins Day 1.

Mellow Start of the Day

Livello 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

There were 50 tables with cards in the air to start the day. The floor staff was well prepared for plenty of late registration, as they had an additional 50+ tables ready for the players steadily entering the field.

Last year had a turn out of 1,438 but we imagine that number will be eclipsed. Some estimate 1,700 entries could be expected for this event, but only time will tell.
