Adam Owen: XxXx / Jx3x10x3xfolded on sixth street
Michael Moncek: XxXx / 3x8xKxAx
Michael Moncek had won a pot just prior on fifth street to boost his shorter stack and added another win shortly after. He bet fourth street against Adam Owen, who opted to call and then check-called on fifth street. Moncek bet sixth street once Owen paired up and that sent the Brit into a brief tank for around a minute before he then folded.
Adam Owen: XxXx 7 9x4x3x5x / Xx
Steve Zolotow: XxXx / AxJx6x7x / Xx
The momentum on table 144 saw the chips move towards the right side while Steve Zolotow, Michael Moncek and Adam Owen had all lost chips in quick succession. Zolotow then clashed with Owen when he called bets by Owen as of fourth and until sixth street, leaving himself a mere 10,000 behind.
Owen double-checked his cards once more on seventh and then bet. Zolotow took around ten seconds to pay it off and Owen announced a wheel, tabling the 5x2xAx. Zolotow briefly exposed his 8x5x2x and headed to the payout desk to collect $17,789 for his 14th place finish.
When pairing up for the second time on sixth street, Yuval Bronshtein called a bet by Talal Shakerchi and joked "full house any good?" They checked seventh and Bronshtein flipped over a five first followed by the Ax6x with the words "I made a full house," while Shakerchi won the pot with the 10x7x3x for an eight-seven.
Carlos Chadha-Villamarin: XxXx / 3x9x7x
Roy Thung: XxXx / 4xXxKxfolded on fifth street
Brad Ruben: XxXx / 6x6xQxfolded on fifth street
Carlos Chadha-Villamarin bet his advantage against Roy Thung and Brad Ruben, the latter of which called one bet on fourth too with a pair of sixes. Thung instantly folded fifth when he picked up a king and Ruben also let go.
Talal Shakerchi: XxXx / 3x10x4x
Carlos Chadha-Villamarin: XxXx / Ax9x9xfolded on fifth street
Brad Ruben: XxXx / 8x3xJxfolded on fifth street
Chadha-Villamarin and Ruben were involved in the next hand after which Ruben bet fourth to earn two calls. On fifth street, Talal Shakerchi bet and Chadha-Villamarin reluctantly folded, as did Ruben rather quickly.
"If I had known, I would have called ... you got away with murder," Chadha-Villamarin joked while Shakerchi just shrugged and collected the chips.
John Hennigan: XxXx/2x3x6xQx/Xx
Talal Shakerchi: XxXx/7x6x8x8x/Xx
Action was joined on fifth street, with Hennigan betting and Shakerchi calling. Hennigan then bet both sixth and seventh streets, getting a call each time.
Hennigan turned over Ax5x7x for a six-five, and Shakerchi mucked.
David "Bakes" Baker: 8x4x / 2x10x3xQx / Kx
Adam Owen: XxXx 7 8x9x5x9xfolded on sixth street
Elior Sion: Ax6x / 8x4x3x5x / 10x
The next short stack after the two table redraw to get the chips in was David "Bakes" Baker, who got involved in a three-way pot against the two Brits Adam Owen and Elior Sion.
Sion bet his advantage until sixth street on which Baker called all-in for the last of it and Owen folded.
Sion already had a made six-five and Baker had to settle for 15th place.
With a pair of eights and fives respectively showing, Tommy Hang and Talal Shakerchi clashed right after coming back from the break. Hang had been the player to object cutting the day short since he was the shortest stack and he got the last 12,000 in after sixth street with Shakerchi calling.
Shakerchi peeled a seven to improve to a jack-ten and Hang paired his queen to bow out in 16th place for $17,789.
Players were given the option to end the day a level early and come back an hour early for Day 2. To do so required a unanimous vote, however, which did not happen.
