Chris Hunichen Eliminated in 8th Place ($50,948)

Livello 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

Action folded to Chris Hunichen in the small blind who raised to 1,600,000 leaving himself 200,000 behind. Johann Ibanez in the big blind immediately jumped up, announcing all in.

Ibanez acted so quickly and strong because it was clear that Hunichen had committed himself, but this is where the hand gets interesting.

With one player left to bust before the unofficial final table and on a $17,000 pay ladder, Hunichen looked over to the other table to see that Samy Boujmala had raised to 1,200,000 on the button which saw Mark Ioli move all in with the covering stack for Boujmala's final 800,000 more.

With the realization that both tables had ended up in the same scenario, Hunichen and Boujmala at the other table waiting to make a decision now entered into a dead lock waiting game.

After roughly 15 minutes, the floor ruled that if the results of the hand saw two players eliminated, the player with the lesser of the two chip stacks would receive the lower pay.

Boujmala called and the cards were on their backs.

Samy Boujmala: AQ
Mark Ioli: 1010

The board ran out QJ763 and the French rail went wild as Boujmala doubled up through Ioli.

Just after that, Hunichen put the rest of his chips in to head to a runout with his tournament life at risk.

Chris Hunichen: A9
Johann Ibanez: 88

The board ran out QA876 and Hunichen was eliminated in eighth place for $50,948.

Hunichen and Ibanez Clash in Massive Pot

Livello 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Johann Ibanez

Action folded to Chris Hunichen on the button who raised to 400,000. Johann Ibanez three-bet from the small blind to 1,800,000.

Action folded back to Hunichen who thought for about a minute before announcing all in. Ibanez quickly double checked his cards and announced call, officially putting himself at risk and headed to a run out.

Johann Ibanez: QQ
Chris Hunichen: A4

Hunichen was headed to the flop needing help, but the 27Q was the opposite. Hunichen, now dead to running spades, started counting up the chips as the 10 and 5 hit the turn and river.

This pot represented a massive swing as Ibanez rockets up to the top of the chip counts where Hunichen has been all day while Hunichen plummeted toward the bottom of the counts for the first time all day.

Liu Chipping Up

Livello 29 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Johann Ibanez raised to 350,000 from the button and Wing Liu called from the big blind to see a 729 flop.

Liu checked and Ibanez continued with a bet of 550,000. Liu called, prompting the dealer to burn and turn the 5.

Liu checked again and Ibanez thought before tossing out a bet of 1,325,000. This put Liu into the tank for a minute or so but he eventually decided on making the call and both players watched as the K hit the river.

Liu checked once more and Ibanez didn't wait long to check behind.

Liu tabled the 109 for second pair, leading Ibanez to peek at his cards one last time before he tossed them into the muck, conceding the pot to Liu.
