Action was picked up just before the third draw with about 16,000 already in the middle. A player in the hijack stood pat, "Captain" Tom Franklin drew one and a player in the button stood pat.
The hijack checked, Franklin bet, the player in the button called and the hijack folded.
Franklin showed 7x5x4x3x2x for the best possible hand and took down a big pot.
Justin Liberto raised on the button and was called by the player in the big blind.
Liberto's opponent drew two and Liberto drew one. The big blind then check-folded facing a bet from Liberto, who is up to 31,000 in the early stages of the tournament.
Liberto will be looking to run deep after getting runner-up in gut-wrenching fashion last night in Event #24: $1,500 Razz after being up nearly 14:1 at one point against David "ODB" Baker.
A player in the cutoff bet and Dan Shak, who placed second in Event #14: Seven Card Stud Championship made the call from the big blind. Both players drew two.
Shak checked and called a bet from his opponent after the first draw. Shak drew two while the player in the cutoff drew one.
After the second draw Shak again check-called a bet from his opponent. Once again Shak drew two and the player in the cutoff drew one.
After the final draw Shak took the initiative with a bet which was enough to get a fold from his opponent.
A player in middle position bet and received calls from the hijack, Farah Galfond in the cutoff, the button and the big blind. All players drew two except Galfond, who drew one.
After the first draw the big blind checked. The player in middle position bet and received calls from all three opponents. The big blind drew two, Galfond and the hijack drew one, and the player in middle position stood pat.
The betting round after the second draw was explosive. The big blind checked, the middle position player bet, the hijack made it two bets and Galfond made it three bets. The big blind and middle position player folded and the hijack called leaving action heads up going into the final draw. Both players stood pat.
The hijack checked, Galfond bet once more and received a call from her opponent.
Galfond tabled 7x5x4x3x2x for the best possible hand and took down a sizable pot.
With several thousand already in the middle, Joe McKeehen led out for a bet from the big blind on the final betting round and his opponent in the cutoff raised.
McKeehen called and announced "Seven," but his opponent tabled 7x5x4x3x2x for the best possible seven and McKeehen mucked his hand upon seeing it.
