Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

Action folded to Andres Korn who opened to 425,000 before seeing Alexandre Reard three-bet shove from the big blind. Korn made the call and the pair headed to a runout.

Alexandre Reard: 1010
Andres Korn: 66

The flop came the K7A to keep Reard firmly in the lead which didn't change on the J turn card.

The river ran out the 3 securing the full double for Reard and putting him back in the middle of the chip counts.

Big Stacks Collide

Livello 31 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Play resumed after a short break in Level 31 and it saw the two biggest stacks collide.

Andres Korn, who started the hand with 9,750,000, raised 425,000 with 66 while under the gun. After action folded around the table, Girish Reknar, who had 10,480,000, called in the big blind with J10.

The dealer fanned J106, a board that gave Reknar top two pair and Korn bottom set. Reknar checked, Korn bet 725,000 and Reknar called.

The turn saw 9 on the board, opening a flush draw for Reknar, who checked. Korn fired a second barrel of 1,275,000, and Reknar called. The river produced K, putting a possible straight on the board.

Rekar checked a third time, only to see Korn make a small 1,000,000 bet. Reknar made the call and Korn turned over his hand to show the set. Reknar tabled his hand to show what he had as the 7,150,000 pot was pushed to Korn, who took over as the chip leader.

The Two Failed Bluffs in One Week that Cost Doug Polk $700k

Chris Moneymaker had the Bluff of the Century in 2003. This past week, Doug Polk had perhaps the Failed Bluff of the Century.

On Sunday, heads-up for a bracelet, Polk bluffed off a significant portion of his stack at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) less than one week after his infamous bluff attempt that didn't get through on Hustler Casino Live's $1 million game.

In both instances, the Upswing Poker founder had a busted draw and attempted to use aggression to coerce his opponents into folding somewhat marginal holdings in massive pots. Both times, however, his efforts were unsuccessful and quite costly.
