Yousefzadeh's Ducks Good for Quadruple Up

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After pushing his short stack of approximately 10,000 chips into the middle, Mehrdad Yousefzadeh watched as three opponents made the call, each looking to take him out of contention.

The flop came down {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} and the three players followed tournament custom by checking it down, trying to increase the chance that one of their holdings would be enough to oust Yousefzadeh. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn prompted another round of checks and we were off to the river.

When the {A-Diamonds} arrived on the river, one player bet into the dry side pot, signifying that he had made a hand strong enough to try and earn added value. Another player made the call and flipped up {A-}{10-}, but found himself beat by {A-}{J-}.

Almost as an afterthought, Yousefzadeh finally revealed his holding: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a flopped set of deuces. Yousefzadeh quadrupled up on this hand as the rail whistled in approval. Yousefzadeh turned to the observers with a smile and said "I had the best hand all the way" while organizing his newly replenished stack of chips.

Warren Wins It with WMD's

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After his opponent shoved all-in, Jeff Warren made a call that he later described as "a no-brainer." Warren held {A-}{A-} and found himself dominating the {A-}{K-} of the other player.

A board of {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs} made it official and Warren eliminated his opponent in the process.

Kravchenko KOd

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

It was folded around to the hijack who raised to 5,000. Alexander Kravchenko was next to act and shipped all in for 37,000. The small blind re-shipped all in for 35,000 and the initial raiser got out of the way. Kravchenko turned over {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and would need some help against the small blind’s {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The board brought no help however as it ran out {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Kravchenko was busto.

Ana Adds Some Chips

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The under-the-gun player open-limped and directly to his left, Ana Marquez raised to 7,000. The big blind and limper both called to see a flop, which came the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}.

The big blind donked for 7,700, which got the limper to fold, but ran into an all-in re-raise from Marquez for 43,000. Her opponent asked for a count, but quickly gave up his cards upon learning the amount, chipping Marquez up to 62,000.

Shak's Stack Cut in Half

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Dan Shak opened to 6,000 on the button and was met with an all-in re-raise to 37,000 from the small blind. Shak called surprisingly quickly and saw that he was in good shape heading to the flop.

Shak: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

Unfortunately for Shak, a nine came out right in the window on the {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. The {5-Hearts} turn and {5-Spades} river were no help to Shak, whose stack now sits just above 35,000.

Frey Bluffed?

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Facing a cutoff raise to 4,600, Hunter Frey three-bet the small blind to 12,700.

Once the big blind folded, the cutoff moved all in for an additional 29,600, and after deliberating for a few moments, Frey folded as he slipped to 155,000 in chips.

As Frey's chips were being pushed to his opponent, he flashed the {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to show that he had shipped on Frey with just king-high.

Ricky Fohrenbach Having a Great Day 2

After a player in middle position opened for 4,500 before the flop, the player to his left shoved all-in and Ricky Fohrenbach asked for a count before announcing that he was all-in as well. The initial bettor folded his {A-}{K-} face up and Fohrenbach tabled the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. His opponent held {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Fohrenbach went to the flop looking to avoid the two nines left in the deck.

The final board revealed {J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and Fohrenbach's tens held up, doubling his stack to over 120,000 chips and placing him near the top of today's leaderboard.

Karamalikis to Blame for Neilson Melt Down?

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jonathan "xMONSTERxDONGx" Karamalikis came over to sweat his good buddy and fellow Australian Daniel Neilson after he busted the six-handed.

"Hurry up and bust so we can go!" stated Karamalikis before adding, "How sick would it be if you got Jacks this hand?"

Once Neilson received his hand, he opened the pot to 4,400 and was called in one spot before Young Phan three-bet to 14,400 from the big blind.

Neilson pushed out a four-bet of 30,400 to force the player caught in the middle to fold only to have Phan move all in for 93,900. Neilson instantly called as the cards were placed on their backs.

Neilson: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Phan: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

With Karamalikis' predication nearly coming true he kind of wished it did as the flop came {3-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs} to keep Phan in the lead.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn changed little, and when the {8-Hearts} landed on the river, Neilson was sent to the rail as Phan soared to 190,000 in chips.

Meet Our New Chip Leader, Valerie Cross

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We were just pointed toward a young lady with a boatload of chips by a couple of railbirds. One of them was her boyfriend, who gave us the scoop on his girl. Hailing from Cincinnati, Cross teaches English as a second language to adults. She is currently working toward her doctorate at Indiana University and has been playing poker for a couple of years. Although she has played in a couple of small World Poker Tour events, this is her first WSOP event and she is certainly making a splash so far.

According to a railbird, Cross had taken out six or seven people in a row at the table. At last count, she had approximately 270,000. We will definitely keep an eye on her from now on and suggest that you should as well.

Jordan Young Shows the Rail What "Sick" Really Means

Livello 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Online poker legend Jordan "Jymaster11" Young, who is best known for his amazing back-to-back victories in the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl and the Full Tilt Sunday $750,000 Guarantee, just won a hand that no doubt reminded him of his days destroying Internet fields.

After raising to 4,600 from the button, Young watched his opponent three-bet for his entire stack of 21,500 chips. With little hesitation, Young made the call and showed down his {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. His stunned opponent dejectedly turned over his {4-}{6-} while the railbirds began discussing Young's amazing call.

The final board of {K-}{K-}{J-}{8-}{A-} was no help to Young's disillusioned opponent and "Jymaster11" built his stack to over 230,000 chips holding only queen-high.
