Railbird Heaven Disappears

Livello 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Table 121 which we reported earlier was filled to the brim with top name pros was just broken up. We have to admit we enjoyed watching (and listening to) that table but it's players are now scattered throughout the rest of the field. C'est la vie.

Karr Beats Bonomo

Livello 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Justin Bonomo raised preflop to 2,500 and McLean Karr was the only player to call. The flop came {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Bonomo bet out 4,500 which Karr called. The turn was the {k-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {3-Spades} on the river. Bonomo checked to Karr who bet 4,700. Bonomo made the call and Karr flipped over the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} which was good enough to take the pot as Bonomo mucked his hand.

After the hand Karr had around 160,000 and Bonomo was left with a little less than 90,000.

Josephy Wins A Pot, Shows Cards

Livello 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Cliff Josephy called a big reraise from Masa Kagawa preflop. The flop fell {K-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {5-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn came {9-Hearts} and Josephy took a while before sliding out twenty 1,000 chips, leaving mostly small denomination chips behind.

Kagawa leaned forward to see how much he had left behind, only about 13,000 or so. Kagawa thought for a while and then folded pocket queens face up. Josephy said, "Aww man, I suck," and turned over pocket aces. Josephy is around the 65,000 mark.

Double Up for Laak

Livello 7 : 300/600, 0 ante

Action folded to Phil Laak in the small blind who raised to 1,400. The player in the big blind called and they saw the flop come {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Laak bet out 1,400, the big blind raised to 3,000, and Laak reraised to 6,700. The big blind called and the {a-Spades} fell on the turn. Laak again bet out, this time for 6,500 and the big blind simply called. The river was the {k-Clubs} and Laak moved all in for his last 11,500. The other player called and Laak showed {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a set of fours and the other player mucked.

After the hand Laak's stack was a healthier 47,000

ElkY Eliminated

Livello 7 : 300/600, 0 ante

A player in middle position limped into the pot and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised to 1,700 from the hijack. The limper made the call and they saw the flop come {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The other player checked and then snap called after ElkY bet 2,200. The turn brought the {a-Clubs} and the other player bet out 5,500 only to have Elky raise all in for around 15,000. The other player made the call and tabled his {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a turned two pair which bested Elky's {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and sending him to the rail.

Russians Collide

A series of preflop raises saw PokerStars Team Pro Russia member Maxim Lykov all in for around 25,000 against Vladimir Shchemelev, who barely had him covered.

Lykov: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Shchemelev: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Lykov was in great shape and looking to dodge an ace, but the {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop was disastrous and left him drawing dead. The meaningless {7-Diamonds} turn and {J-Spades} river were run out for good measure as the Team Pro paid his massage therapist and made his way to the rail.
