Jacks Hold

Action folded to Stefan Huber in middle position and he moved all in for his last 625,000. Phil Collins called from the cutoff while the rest of the field got out of the way.

Showdown
Huber: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Collins: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

the {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop was kind to Huber as it gave him top set; however, it also gave Collins a gut-shot straight draw to a ten. Luckily for Huber, neither the {2-Diamonds} turn nor {A-Clubs} river provided the said ten and doubled to 1.43 million.

Pateychuk Pounds Karim

Zo Karim
Zo Karim

Action folded to Andrey Pateychuk on the button and he raised to 120,000 only to have Zohair Karim move all in from the big blind for 1.09 million. Pateychuk made a quick call and discovered he had Karim dominated.

Showdown
Karim: {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Pateychuk: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

While it seemed like it'd be a rout. the {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Spades} flop hit Karim and thrust him into the lead. However, any enthusiasm he may have had was quickly diminished as the {a-Hearts} spiked on the river to give Pateychuk a bigger two pair. The {8-Clubs} river was no help to Karim, and he was eliminated from the 2011 WSOP Main Event.

Ruthenberg Runs Out

Livello 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Sebastian Ruthenberg, from Day 6
Sebastian Ruthenberg, from Day 6

Kenny Shih opened for 140,000 from under the gun, and Sebastian Ruthenberg reraised all in for his last 880,000 from middle position. It folded to Guillaume Darcourt in the big blind who just called the big reraise. Shih considered, then threw away his hand, noting after he did that he'd folded pocket eights.

Ruthenberg showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Darcourt {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. It was a woulda-coulda-shoulda flop for Shih, coming {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} (although afterwards he shruggingly noted there was no way he could remain in the hand after Darcourt's call). The turn was the {2-Clubs} and river the {2-Diamonds}, and Ruthenberg is out in 55th place.

The pink-haired Darcourt is now sitting with 7.2 million.

Kay Shoves Consecutive Hands

Livello 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Matthew Kay is nursing a short stack, and has just shoved in consecutive hands. During the first hand, the action folded to him in the small blind and he moved all in for 1.005 million. Sam Barnhart tanked for nearly five minutes in the big blind, then folded.

On the second hand, Nicolas Fierro opened to 125,000 from middle position, and Kay three-bet shoved on the button. The action folded back to Fierro who quickly mucked, and Kay picked up the pot.

Moutinho Calls Her Way to Victory

Erika Moutinho crosses 2.5 million.
Erika Moutinho crosses 2.5 million.

Stefan Huber opened from early position to 120,000 and action folded to Erika Moutinho in the big blind. She called and the flop came {10-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn came {6-Clubs}, Moutinho checked, Huber bet 155,000 and Moutinho called. The river came {5-Diamonds} and Moutinho check-called 355,000.

Moutinho tabled {A-Spades} {J-Spades} and Huber mucked his cards, slipping to less than half of what he started the day with.

Esposito Does it Again!

Livello 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
John Esposito shows his excitement after winning the above mentioned hand.
John Esposito shows his excitement after winning the above mentioned hand.

First into the pot from late position, John Esposito opened to 160,000, and Ryan Lenaghan gave him action from the big blind. The two men checked through the {J-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {9-Hearts} flop, and Lenaghan took the lead on the {J-Hearts} turn. He bet 165,000, and Esposito put both hands behind his towers. "I raise," he said with a firmness, and he committed his last 1.385 million chips to the pot. Lenaghan tanked for a good while, then made an impressive call.

Showdown
Lenaghan: {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}
Esposito: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

On seeing Lenaghan's cards, Esposito said something like, "Buddy, I got a lot of wins with this hand!" He did have a plethora of outs, and he found the {K-Clubs} on the river to secure a second double-up within just a few minutes.

This one moves Esposito all the way up to about 3.36 million, knocking Lenaghan down under 11.5 million.

Pateychuk Keeps Firing, Kelly Finally Relents

Livello 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Andrey Pateychuk raised to 120,000 from middle position, and it folded around to J.P. Kelly in the big blind who made the call. The flop came {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{9-Spades}. Kelly checked, Pateychuk bet 150,000, and Kelly called. The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and another check from Kelly. Pateychuk bet 340,000 this time, and once more Kelly called.

The river brought the {8-Diamonds}. Kelly checked again, and after a bit of thought Pateychuk fired one more bullet, this one worth 1.135 million chips. Kelly went into the tank, repeating "1.135, 1.135" as he considered what to do. Finally he let his hand go.

Both players are sitting with top five stacks at the moment, with Pateychuk at 7.64 million and Kelly 7.51 million.

Makiievskyi Moves All In

Livello 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Sam Barnhart opened to 125,000 from early position, Ahtoh Makiievskyi three-bet to 300,000 on his direct left, and Ben "Benba" Lamb cold four-bet to 725,000 on the button. The action folded back to Makiievskyi who tanked before moving all in.

Lamb released, and Makiievskyi took down the pot.

Espo Catches a Card

Stephane Albertini raised to 135,000 to open the pot, and John Esposito three-bet all in for 785,000 total. When it came back to Albertini, he wasted no time calling, and his {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} was poised for the knockout as the short stack tabled {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts}.

The {K-Spades} {2-Clubs} {6-Clubs} flop wasn't much help for the at-risk Esposito, but the turn {5-Clubs} opened up a world of outs. He needed to find a four, a three, or any club to stay alive, and the river {7-Clubs} will do just nicely. "Yeah, baby!" Esposito yelled as his rail erupted in celebration. Their guy has doubled up to about 1.75 million, still about a million back of Albertini.
