David Labchuk had just come over to take the empty seat at the secondary feature table, positioned a couple to the right of Ben Lamb, when he found himself all in before the flop for what looked to be his last 350,000 or so with .
And yes, Lamb was his lone opponent. And yes, Lamb had .
The board ran out , and just like that Seat 5 is empty once more.
"It's your world and we're just living in it, brother!" yelled a Lamb supporter from the rail. He looks to have moved back into the lead with that one, up now to around 4.4 million.
Action folded Jody Howe on the button and he raised to 40,000, which was met with an all-in three-bet by Blaise Dsylva in the small blind. When action was back on Howe, he called all in for 347,000.
Showdown
Howe:
Dsylva:
The flop gave Howe nines full of queens and left Dsylva looking for a queen. The turn was not it, and neither was river. Howe doubled to 700,000 on the hand.
Giuseppe Pastura raised to 50,000 in middle position and Matthew Kay three-bet it to 135,000 total in late position. Pastura then re-popped it to 375,000 and Kay made the call as the two saw a flop roll off. Pastura fired a massive bet of 400,000 and Kay tanked for a couple of minutes before he laid his hand down.
Stefan Huber raised to 40,000 in middle position and Andrew Hinrichsen three-bet to 100,000 in the cutoff. Huber then moved all in for 1,300,000 and Hinrichsen went into the tank for a good three minutes. Hinrichsen finally mucked and the was mistakingly exposed as one of his cards. Huber then proceeded to table the and one can only wonder what his other card was as he took down the pot.
With 300,000 in the pot preflop in a blind-versus-blind situation, the came out on the flop and Tod Holley moved all in for 683,000 from the small blind. Tom Koral was in the big blind and made a quick call.
Showdown
Koral:
Holley:
Koral was ahead with his aces, but needed to dodge a bevy of Holley's outs. The was kind to Koral, as was the river. Koral took down the pot, chipping up to 1.98 million, while Holley was eliminated from the Main Event in 169th place.
With two empty seats, a couple of newcomers have been sent over to the main feature table.
Blake Bohn of Minnesota has come over to slide into Seat 5, while the German Sebastian Ruthenberg has settled into Seat 8 to Jean-Robert's Bellande right.
We found Hilton Laborda all in preflop for a whopping 912,000 and at risk against Matthew Wantman. The ESPN cameras came by for the all in with Wantman voicing his displeasure about Laborda supposedly slowrolling him which would have happened before we got to the table.
Laborda:
Wantman:
The flop came down and provided no help to Wantman. The on the turn and the were clean for Laborda who doubled up as Wantman took a big hit.
We found Tod Holley collecting his things and Aleksandr Mozhnyakov dragging a pot. Holley had and Mozhnyakov had . The board read and Mozhnyakov crossed 3.3 million.
We're not sure how the action went, but a short-stacked Jonathan Pinx ended up all in for his last 75,000 and was up against the big stack of Matthew Kay.
Showdown
Kay:
Pinx:
Kay was very outgoing as the ESPN cameras surrounded the table. When the flop fell , Pinx let out a shout in celebration. The turn left Kay drawing dead, and Pinx doubled after the was put out on the river.
Daryl Jace and Joseph Cheong keeping playing big pots against each other. With Jace in early position he made it 100,000 to go and action folded all the way around to Cheong in the big blind. He called and they saw a flop of . The both checked and the came on the turn. They checked again and the came on the river.
Cheong bet 175,000 and Jace called. Cheong tabled for a full house and Jace mucked.
