2011 World Series of Poker
Our last three players are taking a 20-minute break.
In the final hand of Level 26, Justin Filtz opened for 65,000 from the button, Matt Jarvis called from the small blind, and Wesley Pantling folded. The flop came and both players checked. The turn was the , and when Jarvis checked, Filtz bet 85,000. Jarvis check-raised to 240,000, and Filtz called.
The river was the . Jarvis pushed out a bet of 380,000, and after about 15 seconds Filtz made the call. Jarvis showed for two pair, and Filtz mucked.
Back shortly with fresh chip counts for the final three.
Robert Merulla opened to 70,000 on the button, Justin Filtz three-bet to 195,000 from the small blind, and Merulla moved all in for around 1.3 million. Filtz stood, waiting for a count, and once he received a ballpark number he called.
Murella:
Filtz:
The flop didn't change much, but the on the turn gave Murella six more outs to a straight (Filtz held the largest spade). The river was a spade - the - and Merulla was eliminated in 4th place.
Filtz added to his massive stack, and has over half of the chips in play.
Justin Filtz again opened with a raise of 70,000 from the cutoff/UTG, then Matt Jarvis raised to 165,000 from the button. The blinds folded, and Filtz called.
The flop came . Filtz took about a half-minute, then checked. Jarvis, with similar deliberation, set out a bet of 185,000. Filtz eyed Jarvis, who looked ahead at the center of the table, eyes hidden behind his mirrored, wrap-around sunglasses. Filtz made the call.
The turn was the , and the pair followed a similar routine. Filtz paused then checked, Jarvis bet 335,000 this time and sat motionless while Filtz studied him, and Filtz once more made the call.
The river brought the and another check from Filtz. Jarvis sat quietly with his left hand on his right shoulder, then announced he was all in for the 1.4 million-ish he had left.
Filtz exhaled and contemplated Jarvis' shove. "That's a gross river," he said. Finally, he folded, conceding the large pot.
Jarvis moves up over 3.1 million and into second place, while Filtz still leads with about 4.4 million.
Robert Merulla opened to 70,000 on the button, and Justin Filtz three-bet to 190,000 from the small blind. Merulla called. The flop fell , Filtz led for 225,000, and Merulla quickly called.
The turn was the , and Filtz led again - this time for 475,000. Merulla tanked for nearly a minute, before taking one green T25,000 chip off of a 500,000-chip stack, and sliding it forward.
The river was the , and Filtz paused before announcing, "one million."
Merulla leaned back from the table in disbelief. He put his hands together and rubbed them together, then turned to say something to Filtz. We didn't catch it, but we heard Filtz's response:
"I'm not going to show."
Nearly two minutes passed before Merulla said, "call," prompting Filtz to stand up and turn over for a set of kings. Merulla mucked his hand, and the near four million-chip pot was pushed over to Filtz.

The table folded around to Justin Filtz on the button. "Seventy," he said, pushing out a raise to 70,000. Matt Jarvis folded from the small blind, then Tore Lukashaugen announced he was reraising all in from the big blind. Lukashaugen set out two columns of chips, totaling about 530,000. Filtz quickly called, turning over . Lukashaugen showed .
The flop came , pairing Filtz and leaving Lukashaugen searching for the case queen or some other, similarly unlikely good fortune of the runner-runner variety. But the turn was the and the river the , and Lukashaugen is out in fifth.
Filtz now has about 3.3 million and is vying closely with Robert Merulla for the chip lead.
Matt Jarvis opened to 63,000, Wesley Pantling called on the button, and Justin Filtz called in the big blind. The flop came down , Filtz checked, and Jarvis continued for 92,000. Pantling called, and Filtz folded.
Both players checked the on the turn, and Jarvis checked a second time when the river was the . Pantling tossed out 100,000, and Jarvis called.
Pantling opened up for the nuts, and won the pot.

Matt Vengrin had slipped down close to the 250,000-chip mark when he open-raised all in from the cutoff, then Wesley Pantling called from the button. The blinds both got out, and the players tabled their cards:
Vengrin
Pantling
The flop came , further strengthening Pantling's lead in the hand. The turn brought the , however, and some flush outs for Vengrin. But the river was the , and Vengrin leaves the main stage in sixth place.
Pantling picks up still more chips, moving up around 1.85 million.
