Smith Straightens Up
Livello 9
: 300/600, 75 ante
A player in early position opened with a raise to 1,300, and he found calls in three places, including the place occupied by Gavin Smith -- the small blind.
On the flop, the big blind bet 3,050, and only Smith called to go heads-up, blind-versus-blind to the turn. It put four to a straight on board, and both men checked through to the river. Smith took the lead now with 4,400 of his own chips, and his opponent made the call.
Smith showed up for the straight, and it was good. That's how they do it in Guelph, apparently, and it's given Smith a chip boost up to 31,000.
