Scott Clements Eliminated in 21st Place ($8,191)

Livello 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Scott Clements
Scott Clements

Scott Clements was all in on the turn of a {6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts} board after check-calling a bet on the flop (having raise preflop from the cutoff and getting called by Kostas Kalathakis).

Clements: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} for a pair of jacks and a three-four low
Kalathakis: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for the nut low.

Clements needed to avoid a ten or queen that wasn't a spade to survive and get a chop but the {Q-Diamonds} meant Kalathakis scooped the pot. The double Omaha bracelet winner will have to wait until next time.

Jaime Kaplan Eliminated in 23rd Place ($8,191)

Livello 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

After losing over half his stack to Scott Clements a few hands ago, Jaime Kaplan has just busted. He got it all in against Jacobo Fernandez on a {K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} and the players turned up their cards.

Kaplan: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Fernandez: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

The turn and river came the {Q-Hearts} and {10-Clubs} respectively which gave Fernandez the nuts with Broadway. This sent Kaplan packing while Fernandez was up to 250,000 after the hand.

Lex Veldhuis Eliminated in 24th Place ($8,191)

Livello 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Travis Pearson raised preflop and Lex Veldhuis defended in the big blind. The flop was {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Veldhuis led out, Pearson raised and Veldhuis moved all in for not much more. Call.

Veldhuis: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}
Pearson: {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}

Veldhuis was in front but Pearson picked up the nut low draw, gutshot and nut flush draw on the {2-Spades} turn causing a huge sweat for the Dutchman. The {A-Hearts} on the river was enough to scoop the pot for Pearson as he made aces and the nut low for both halves of the pot.

Clements Nearly Doubles

Livello 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Scott Clements raised UTG+1 and it was folded around to Jaime Kaplan in the big blind. Kaplan made it three bets to go and Clements answered by making it four. Kaplan just called and the flop came {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Kaplan led out and got raised by Clements. He just called and they saw the {10-Diamonds} turn. Kaplan checked called Clements bet and the river was the {Q-Spades}. Both players checked and Kaplan announced ace-six high. Clements turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for one pair that was good to almost double him up to 169,000 while Kaplan dropped down to 75,000

Brian Swinford Eliminated in 25th Place ($8,191)

Livello 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Brian Swinford raised in middle position and Jimmy Fricke defended in the big blind.

All the money went in on the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board, Swinford held {A-}{A-} X X against Fricke's double gutshot holding of {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}, the turn was the {2-Clubs} and Fricke completely his wheel. Swinford needed the board to pair to simply gain half the pot but the river was the {5-Diamonds} and he was eliminated.

Ten Levels or Final Table?

It appears as though the initial plan will be that we will play ten levels or down to a winner today, however finishing the tournament seems highly unlikely today, some of the players have complained and would rather stop once we've made the final table.

We'll keep you updated with this story if it anything changes.

Welcome to Day 3 of Event #3: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better

We're back in the Amazon room for Day 3 of the Limit O8 event. This is now scheduled to be a four day tournament though we are not sure what the tournament staff's plan for today is. We would assume that they would do either one of two things today:

A) Play through ten levels even if this means stopping while we are halfway through the final table

OR

B) Simply playing down to the final table and then finish off the tournament tomorrow.

The problem is that with 25 players, it's a little too much to expect us to finish the tournament today but it will definitely mean that one of the next two days will be relatively short.

Play begins at 2.30pm, Francesco Barbero leads with 459,000 just ahead of Matthew Waxman (458,000). In the meantime, allow Lynn Gilmartin to update you across all events:
