Astrolux Slides Out

Livello 17

Brent "Astrolux85" Roberts is the latest victim of this Day 2. He has been awfully short on chips for hours, and it looks like a good feat for Roberts to have gotten this far. He'll take home $6,726 as a consolation prize for 29th place.

Sarkeshik Doubles

Omaha 8/B

From under the gun, Ali Sarkeshik raised before Kendall Fukumoto reraised from UTG +1. The action folded around to Sarkeshik who called before he checked in the dark.

"Bring the turn," said Fukumoto, so the dealer produced the flop of {2-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Spades} and the turn of the {A-Hearts}. Sarkeshik bet and Fukumoto called, then Sarkeshik shoved dark before the river, which was the {K-Clubs}. Fukumoto called.

"Full house," Sarkeshik exclaimed, tabling {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Fukumoto could only muster {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Sarkeshik doubled up.

Berman Goes Bye-Bye

Stud 8/B

Brian Haveson: {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} / {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} / {6-Spades}
Sam Silverman: {x-}{x-} / {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {x-} MUCKED
Lyle Berman: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs} / {x-} MUCKED

Haveson brought-in from the one-seat and Sam Silverman completed before Berman shipped his last 1,400 into the middle. Haveson called, then Haveson and Silverman checked down all streets except the river, where Haveson bet. Silverman called, but Haveson's straight and seven-low scooped the pot and gave Berman his marching orders.

One Deeb Down, One to Go

Livello 17
Freddy Deeb - out
Freddy Deeb - out

Freddy Deeb opened to 6,000 from late position, and Scott Bohlman reraised to 19,000 from the big blind. Deeb called, and the flop came {4-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {A-Hearts}. Bohlman led out with a pot-sized bet of 39,000, and that sent Deeb deep into the tank. He started talking to himself. "Well, I went with this hand and I flopped it..." he began, trailing off. He counted down his stack, and he only had 38,200 left. After another moment, he said, "Well, I hope you don't have a set," and he announced the call.

"Aces," Bohlman said, rolling over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for top set. It was just as Deeb feared, and he tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Spades} for the underset.

"I'll give you a ride home," Lyle Berman said, now standing adjacent to Deeb sweating this final hand.

"Not if I catch a four," Deeb answered with a grin. The turn and river were the {9-Diamonds} and {9-Clubs}, though, and there's no quads and no more chips for Deeb.

Looks like he'll be catching a ride home with Berman tonight.

Alarm Bells for Alaei

Razz

Shawn Buchanan: {x-}{x-} / {8-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Daniel Alaei: {x-}{x-} / {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} MUCKED

Our reporter picked up the action on fourth street, with Alaei leading out the betting. Buchanan called, then he led out on fifth street. Alaei called, but didn't look too happy when his jacks paired on sixth street and folded after Buchanan led out again. Buchanan flashed {5-}{3-} before raking in the pot.

Deeb is Strong With the Fours

Limit Hold'em

The action folded around to Don McNamara who raised from the small blind before the flop; Shaun Deeb called out of the big blind, then bet out after the dealer spread the flop of {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. McNamara called, then both players checked down the turn and river of {10-Spades}, {7-Diamonds}.

McNamara showed pocket twos, but Deeb's pocket fours were best and he picked up the pot.

Ali Sarkeshik Eliminated in 24th Place ($8,197)

Livello 18
Ali Sarkeshik - 24th place
Ali Sarkeshik - 24th place

Limit Hold'em

Ali Sarkeshik started this final hand with only about 18,000 chips, and they all went into the middle before the flop in a raising war with Brian Powell. Powell called him down with {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}, and Sarkeshik's {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} was a small favorite to keep him alive.

King-queen never loses, though, and the board ran out {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {9-Clubs}. Sarkeshik falls in 24th place, good for a pay bump up to $8,197.

Oops!

Stud

Kevin Chance: {Q-}{10-Diamonds} / {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} / {9-Clubs}
Shaun Deeb: {x-}{x-} / {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} / {x-} MUCKED

Don McNamara brought the action in, Deeb completed and Chance called before McNamara folded, making it heads-up to fourth street - although it almost didn't happen, because the dealer accidentally mucked Chance's {J-Clubs}! The players were quick to jump on the dealer's error, but after the card was retrieved, play resumed.

Chance opened and Deeb called, then Deeb led out and Chance called on fifth before Deeb check-called Chance on both sixth and seventh streets. Deeb was far from pleased to see Chance's straight, walking off in a huff, but he's still well in contention as we approach the halfway mark of this final level.
