Compton Crushed By Wolfe's Boat
We saw Steve Wolfe and Mark Compton assuming the usual all-in positions, standing and waiting for the dealer to determine a winner.
Showdown:
Wolfe:
Compton:
Wolfe's aces were far in the lead but as we have seen before, Omaha can be a cruel mistress when it comes to made hands. The flop came and suddenly Wolfe didn't need his aces, as he was now playing two pair, eights and nines.
The on the turn muddled things further by giving Compton a better two pair with tens and eights, but Wolfe added the nut flush draw to his arsenal. He could now win with the case ace for trips, the case eight or a nine for a full house, or any club for a flush.
River:
Wolfe found an out on the river and his full house was good for the win. Compton was eliminated in 27th place, earning $8,848 for his efforts today.
