Tom McCormick was all in and at risk on third against Men Nguyen. McCormick lead with 5s until Nguyen made jacks on fifth. McCormick took the lead back with 10s up on sixth and Nguyen failed to improve as McCormick doubled up.
Matt Glantz completed on third street. Nick Schulman raised and action folded around to Glantz, who promptly three-bet. Schulman called and again called a bet from Glantz on fourth street. The rest of Schulman's chips were in the pot on fifth street as he turned over for jacks up. Glantz turned over for a pair of kings, but failed to catch up to Schulman on sixth or seventh street.
Schulman is up to about 110,000, while Glantz slipped to roughly 160,000.
Hasan Habib was all in and ahead with a pair of 4s on fifth against Sorel Mizzi’s pair of 3s. Mizzi took the lead on seventh when he made two pair, 4s and 3s, so Habib would have to pair up to avoid eliminated. Unfortunately for him he bricked and was eliminated and the players are hand for hand.
Nick Schulman raised showing the and Men Nguyen, who had the bring in, made the call with the . Schulman picked up the and Nguyen got the . The latter said, "You check, I bet, you bet, I call," throwing out 8,000.
Schulman immediately made it 16,000, check-raising the verbally declared announcement and the rest of the money went in on fifth street. Schulman showed split queens which improve to two pair on sixth street leaving Nguyen's ace-high drawing dead.
It's only a small dent in Nguyen's stack and Schulman is still one of the shortest stacks remaining.
Hasan Habib was all in for his last 25,000 with split queens against Ville Wahlbeck's split nines. Habib improved to queens and threes but Wahlbeck couldn't catch anything to help him. Habib is back up to about 60,000 but he's still a short stack.
Chad Brown brought in, Christopher George completed, Ville Wahlbeck raised, Brown re-raised, George folded and Wahlbeck called. Wahlbeck check-called Brown’s bet on fourth and bet on fifth. Brown raised and Wahlbeck made the call. Wahlbeck bet again on sixth and seventh and Brown just called only to be shown the of Wahlbeck for trip aces. Brown frustratingly showed for rolled up threes which couldn’t improve and were no good.
Chris Amaral lost a big pot when he paid off Men Nguyen's queen-high flush and the remainder of his chips went in with a three-flush against Matt Glantz' buried eights. By fifth, Amaral had a huge draw with overcards and a flush draw but couldn't make anything as Glantz improved to two pair on sixth. Amaral's final card was a brick and he was eliminated just shy of the money.
