That's a Wrap; Happy Days for Foster Hays!
Well, it's been a long, hard day, but Day 2 of Event 18 here at the World Series of Poker is in the books!
After the commencement of play was pushed back by 45 minutes due to the overflow from the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event that started today, the 469 returning players didn't mess about, with the bubble being burst within the first level of play. Among those that are moving on to Day 3 are Tristian Wade, Alan Le, Matthew Wood and Tony Cousineau.
After all the carnage, Foster Hays has emerged our chip leader, bagging up 1,250,000, followed by Jordan Young who holds 1,080,000. Stan Tavanese (814,000), Bryan Barille (634,000) and Jeffrey Lavelle (573,000) round off the top five.
Amongst those that were eliminated in the money were Christian Harder, Chris Moorman, Jeffrey Papola, Pascal LeFrancois, Daniel Kelly, Richard Toth, Jon Turner, Humberto Brenes and Prahlad Friedman, as well as newlyweds Erick Lindgren and Erica Schoenberg.
With the chip lead having changed hands so many times, we can only expect that the lightning-fast action will continue from tomorrow at 2.30pm PST (GMT -7) in the Amazon Room when we return for Day 3. And if you want to keep up with this, plus all of the WSOP action, be sure to keep following us right here on PokerNews. Until then, it's ciao for now!
