Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Shigano Goes Busto

The cry of, "All in and call" went up from table 367 where we saw Kyle Shigano all in for the last of his chips with {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and looking in great shape against Stefan Hendrickx, who had called with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

However, Hendrickx hit bottom set on the flop of {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, which held after the turn and river ran out {2-Diamonds}, {8-Spades}.

Hewitt Chews Up Appel

After a massive preflop raising war, John Hewitt and Eric Appel went heads-up to a flop that read {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Appel open-shoved and Hewitt snap-called, quickly tabling {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for trips, much to the embarrassment of Appel, who showed {5-Spades}{4-Spades}.

The {6-Clubs} on the turn gave Appel a glimmer of hope, but the river {A-Diamonds} was not what he was looking for and he paid the ultimate price for his aggression.

"What a way to go, huh?" Appel lamented as he left the Amazon Room. No worries for Hewitt though - he's clearly our new chip leader!
