Pap! Pap! Pap!

Livello 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Joseph Ebanks fired 35,000 on the {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board and Jeff Papola made the call. The river completed the board with the {3-Clubs} and Ebanks fired 75,000 with about 170,000 behind. Papola thought and then moved all in, putting Ebanks to the test. Ebanks tanked for a bit and then tossed his hand away, but didn't look too happy to do so. Papola won the pot and now has 780,000 in chips.

Tequila!

Livello 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

James Calderaro has been one of the shorter stacks during the last few levels, but he certainly seems to be enjoying himself. He just ordered a shot of tequila for himself and a couple other players in the tournament. With only 38 players remaining it's nice to see a little fun amongst all the serious faces.

We'll let you know if anyone gets up on the table to do the Pee-Wee Herman dance.

Vamplew Straightens Dyer

Back in September 2010, David Vamplew won the European Poker Tour London Main Event for £900,000. Just now, he won a nice pot from Greg Dyer. The board read {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} on the turn and Dyer bet 25,000. Vamplew made the call to see the {7-Spades} complete the board on the river. Dyer checked and Vamplew bet 56,000. After a long time in the tank, Dyer made the call.

Vamplew tabled the king-high straight with the {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Dyer shook his head with a pained face and mucked.

Young Busted by Ebanks

Joseph Ebanks raised from the cutoff seat to 7,000. Orson Young reraised from the small blind to 19,000. Ebanks tanked for a bit and then came back with a four-bet to 35,000. Young quickly folded.

On the next hand, Ebanks and Young got all of the money in on the {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} flop with Young the player at risk. He held the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to Ebanks' {8-Spades}{6-Spades}. The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, which kept Young in the lead, but the {A-Spades} on the river gave Ebanks a flush. Young was eliminated while Ebanks neared 300,000 in chips.

Dyer Eliminates Kim

John Kim lost most of his stack in a hand against Efren Garcia. We aren't sure when the money went in, but the board read {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Kim's {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} had been rivered by Garcia's {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Kim was left with 6,000 in chips and on the next hand, Gregory Dyer raised to 7,500 from the cutoff and Anthony Spinella re-raised to 22,000 from the small blind. Kim, who was in the big blind, tossed his last few chips into the pot and Dyer called the 22,000 to start a sidepot.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, Spinella bet 15,000 and Dyer called. Both players checked when the {7-Spades} hit on the turn and the {k-Hearts} came on the river. Spinella said "ace high" but mucked his hand when Dyer showed the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for a pair of queens. Kim mucked his hand as well and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Spinella must have recently won a large pot because even after losing some chips in this hand he still has a massive stack in front of him.

More Big Double Ups

Livello 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We came in on the river where the board read {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Alexander Wice in the big blind checked, and Joseph Ebanks bet 52,000. Wice moved all in for a total of 159,500 and Ebanks made the call.

Wice flipped over {7-}{7-} for a rivered full house and Ebanks pushed Wice the chips as he threw away his {10-}{8-} straight (the nuts on the turn}.

Wice has 340,000 and Ebanks is left with 190,000

Keller KO'ed

Livello 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Shawn Keller has copped a brutal beat at the hands of Darren Wong to become the latest player to hit the rail in Event #10 of the 2011 World Series of Poker.

Our field reporter picked up the action on a flop of {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}; Keller opened for 17,000 from early position and Wong called before the dealer revealed the turn of the {A-Hearts}. Keller then check-snap-called Wong's all-in bet, tabling {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} against Wong's {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Unfortunately for Keller, Wong hit the {5-Hearts} on the river for the flush and ... ummmmm ... yeah. That's about it, really. Oh, and Wong's now on 360,000 in chips. Bam!
