Jeffrey Papola Eliminated in 3rd Place ($214,410)

Livello 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jeffrey Papola - 3rd Place
Jeffrey Papola - 3rd Place

WOW! Just. Wow.

Nobody would have thought it happened like this, but we are now heads-up between Eddie Blumenthal and Geffrey Klein. That's right, ladies and gents - the other Jeffrey, Jeffrey Papola (the one with the WSOP bracelet already), has busted in third place!

Here's how it went down: Klein folded on the button and Papola raised to 110,000 from the small blind. Blumenthal called from the big blind and so off they went to the flop of {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

Papola opened for 140,000. Blumenthal paused, then pushed out a raise worth 320,000. Papola returned fire with a three-bet of 565,000 and Blumenthal snap-shoved, but Papola beat him into the pot.

Blumenthal: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Papola: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

Turn: {9-Spades}

Blumenthal's supporters leaned in as far as they could, cheering their man on. "Come on Eddie baby, diamond one time!" one railbird shouted.

River: {5-Diamonds}

BOOOOOOOOOM! There was the one time that Blumenthal needed! His supporters went ballistic, hugging, high-fiving and fist-bumping him from all over the place while a dejected Papola pushed through the crowd to make his way to the cage.

It was yet another gallant run by Papola and while he's not picking up his second bracelet this time around, we are sure to see him back again in future six-handed events. The King of Six Max is dead. Long live the King.

It's That Time of the Night ...

... where the players fall into the old "raise-pre-flop-all-others-fold" routine. Understandably, the players are deadset focused on getting the top prize, but it's hard on all the railbirds who are watching on.

We almost had an all-in - Eddie Blumenthal raised from the button to 85,000 before Geffrey Klein reraised all-in another 645,000. After asking for a count, followed by a minute in the tank, Blumenthal folded.

We'll bring you more action as it unfolds, but in the meantime, why not check out these chip counts?

Papola & Blumenthal Do Battle

Geffrey Klein has been more than happy to just stay out of the way and let Eddie Blumenthal and Jeffrey Papola go hammer-and-tongs at each other as the action continues here at this final table.

After several uncontested pots, Papola elected to limp in from the button before the flop. Blumenthal raised to 135,000 from the small blind, forcing Klein out of the way before Papola called to go heads-up to the flop of {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{A-Hearts}.

Blumenthal led out for 140,000 and Papola called before both players checked the turn of the {3-Diamonds}. Blumenthal then checked his option on the river {3-Diamonds}, which saw Papola lead out for 260,000. Blumenthal called and his {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} was good enough to take the pot down.

In the very next hand, Blumenthal raised to 60,000 from the button and again Klein let his hand go, leaving Papola to call before the dealer spread a flop of {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Papola check-called Blumenthal's bet of 80,000, then both players checked the turn of the {6-Diamonds} before Papola fired out 160,000 on the river of the {10-Spades}. This time, Blumenthal let his hand go.

David Vamplew Eliminated in 4th Place ($141,030)

Livello 25 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
David Vamplew - 4th Place
David Vamplew - 4th Place

After getting crippled on the previous hand, David Vamplew moved all in for 240,000 from under the gun. Jeff Papola called from the small blind and Eddie Blumenthal called from the big blind.

The flop was checked by both active players after the {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} fell. The turn brought the {5-Clubs} and Papola fired 150,000. Blumenthal called.

The {8-Spades} completed the board on the river and Papola checked. Blumenthal bet 360,000 and Papola called. Blumenthal announced the nuts and tabled the {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the nut flush. Papola showed the {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Vamplew the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

Blumenthal scooped both the side pot and the main pot to win the hand and eliminate Vamplew in fourth place.
