Speech Play Defeats Speech Play
The always talkative Ren Lin opened to 225,000 from under the gun and Imad Derwiche called in the big blind, as both engaged in table chat already.
As they headed to the K♥4♥3♠ flop, Derwiche joked "slowly, Lady Gaga slowly ..." before he checked. Lin then bet 300,000 only for Derwiche to inquire about the size of the pot.
Derwiche then potted to 1,470,000, sending Lin into the tank.
"I would like you to stay on this table, so save your chips," Derwiche declared. Lin pondered about his move and used one time bank before folding.
Derwiche offered for his table neighbour to pick two cards and the 7♥4♠ were exposed.
Lin jokingly asked if he could also see the other two and Derwiche flipped over one more card, the J♠.
"What the fuck?" Lin said as he burst out in laughter.
