Boatman Adds More Chips During First Hands
Barny Boatman limped in from the small blind with 6♣5♦ and David Kaufmann checked his 10♦4♠ in the big blind. Boatman continued for 300,000 chips on the 7♠4♦6♠ flop and Kaufmann called.
The J♣ turn saw Boatman put 800,000 chips more into the middle, forcing a fold from Kaufmann's bottom pair.
The next hand, Boatman raised 6♣2♣ to 600,000 on the button and Aleksejs Ponakovs defended A♥4♣ in the big blind. Boatman put forth a continuation-bet of 500,000, which Ponakovs check-raised to 1,500,000. Boatman quickly folded and granted the pot to Ponakovs.
One hand later, Ponakovs limped in from the small blind with 10♠4♥ and Boatman checked his Q♦4♦ in the big blind. Ponakovs flopped top pair on 10♥3♠7♦ and bet 400,000 chips. Boatman flicked in a call and the 5♦ turn emerged from the deck.
Ponakovs checked to Boatman, who made a bet of 800,000 with his turned flush draw. Ponakovs called to see the 9♦ river complete the board. Ponakovs checked once more, after which Boatman put in 1,750,000 with his rivered flush.
Ponakovs used four time bank cards before finding a call, but his top pair was heavily outclassed by Boatman's flush and he tossed his cards into the muck.
