Almeida Spikes the Turn to Double
"This is the only level I know how many big blinds I have without using a calculator," Barny Boatman said as the players returned from break.
"It's nice to do be able to say what you want, do what you want. I was very gentle with you," Eric Afriat added as yesterday's rivals shared a laugh.
"You have to embrace the villain role," tablemate Eliot Hudon said to Afriat.
Gonzalo Almeida then moved all in for 1,040,000 in the cutoff and Eliot Hudon called in the big blind.
Gonzalo Almeida: 8♠8♦
Eliot Hudon: A♠Q♥
Hudon took the lead on the Q♦7♠2♣ flop with top pair, but Almeida spiked the 8♣ on the turn to make a set and leave Hudon drawing dead. The 7♥ river improved Almeida to a full house and he doubled up.
"That's why you play this game. For moments like that," Afriat said to Almeida.
"I was probably due to lose one," Hudon added.
