Veipans Eliminates Two and Claims Chip Lead with Big All-In Win

Giuseppe Tarsia pushed all in with about 100,000 from middle position, and Fahad El Mechraa, holding around 600,000, called. Nils Veipans, sitting on the button, then shoved all in himself, prompting an immediate call from El Mechraa. It was time for a showdown.

Arriving on the turn of 2♥4♥J♥7♦ in a blind-on-blind battle between Alessandro Orsi and Fabrizio Ortolomo, Orsi bet 125,000 into the pot of 200,000 and received a call from Ortolomo.

The river fell the K♣ and saw Orsi check to Ortolomo. Ortolomo then pushed all in for an overbet of 660,000 chips.

Orsi spent some time in the tank before eventually flicking in a singular chip to signify a call.

Ortolomo showed K♥8♣ for top pair, beating the 8♥7♠ of Orsi, who had called with third pair.

Ortolomo was awarded the massive pot and ended up with two and a half time the average stack.

Egea called and Aissaoui got out of the way for the heads up showdown.

It's official. After its return in 2023 following a 12-year hiatus, PokerStars has confirmed that The Big Game on Tour is back again this year, with more episodes to be filmed at the NAPT Las Vegas festival.

Ten episodes of the show were filmed last year, with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Maria Ho, Lex Veldhuis and Sam Grafton all taking part. The show features a lucky Loose Cannon who receives $50,000 and has to survive 150 hands playing $50/$100 with a table of poker pros, ambassadors, and celebrities.

PokerNews spoke with Big Game on Tour judge and commentator James Hartigan ahead of the show's return, and he says he's thrilled the show is back.
