EPT Barcelona 2024

As the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona crosses the halfway mark, high rollers have one last chance to play for the largest stakes in the €50,000 Super High Roller Second Chance, which gets underway at 8 p.m. local time.

Last year, Israeli businessman Tom Orpaz overcame a 24-entry field in this event to claim the €442,440 first-place prize. Impressively, the victory was Orpaz's second in quick succession, having taken down a €25k High Roller event earlier in the same series for an additional €255,480 here at Casino Barcelona.

Historically, the event has drawn the best among poker's elite. Previous participants include Nacho Barbero, Steve O'Dwyer, Erik Seidel, Nick Petrangelo, and Justin Saliba, who placed runner-up to Jean-Noel Thorel in the High Roller warm up just a few short days ago.

The two-day event begins with 250,000 starting stacks and blinds of 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big-blind ante. Levels last 30 minutes each and players will get a 20-minute break after every four levels. Day 1 will play for eight levels before players bag and tag for the evening and late registration will close at the start of Day 2, which is scheduled to start on Wednesday, September 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Early birds will be given an extra incentive as 50% of the entry fee will be refunded for any player who registers in advance and takes their seat before the tournament begins.
