Last year at in Barcelona, France's Simon Wiciak defeated João Sydenstricker heads-up to win the EPT Main Event for €1,134,375.

Wiciak bested the field of 2,120 runners for the golden trophy, his first major live poker title, and the career-best seven-figure score.

The Frenchman struck a three-handed deal with Sydenstricker and Britain's Carl Shaw that flattened the payouts, and the trio played on for the trophy and an additional €108,975 in prize money.

With 48,000 in the middle on a turn board of A♣A♥K♥7♣, Vladimir Korzinin bet 16,000 from the cutoff before Erik Seidel moved all in for his last 35,000.

Korzinin called and was about to double up the Hall of Famer.

Watson bet 17,000 and got called by Ladva to see the river 4♦.

After another check by Ladva, Watson bet 50,000, covering Ladva's remaining stack. Ladva wasted no time in folding as Watson has rebuilt his stack to well over starting since dropping down early.

After being left with crumbs thanks to a big pot against Vladimir Korzinin, Kayhan Mokri put in his last 1,000 under the gun.

Nacho Barbero then raised to 3,500 on the button and got called by Korzinin in the small blind and Erik Seidel in the big blind.

The flop came Q♠10♠2♠ and after a check from Korzinin, Seidel moved all in for about 35,000. His opponents folded and Mokri was out the door shortly after.

Seidel's flopped flush had Mokri drawing dead before the board completed 2♥6♥.

Mokri has yet to return to the tables, but he is expected to be back in the mix shortly.

After opening in late position and being three-bet from the blinds by Vladimir Korzinin, Sam Grafton moved all in for just under 60,000.

The duo bantered back and forth briefly before Korzinin showed 10♠10♣ and folded.

"How do I always get outplayed?" Grafton joked as he showed J♥J♦ before raking in a pot much smaller than he was hoping for.
